Billboards for HumanityPosted by craig |
Large companies reach massive numbers of people with a simple message: "Buy our product." They use a range of methods and systems to communicate with their audience, and they are very effective at what they do. Corporations are passionate and highly creative at achieving their goal of reaching as many people as possible.
Anyone who says it's not possible to save the world is not looking closely enough. To reach massive numbers of people on a global scale with a message of love and wakefulness, we simply need the same drive and creative energy used in the consumer markets that are now sweeping the globe. Because waiting for people to come asking isn't getting us anywhere.
A solution is to create large organizations that utilize the corporate genius for reaching large numbers of people, but rather than using that genius for material profit, use it to do good in the world. For example:
Imagine driving along one day seeing a billboard that says, "Hello there, how are you doing?" You see these ads everywhere in your city, and you think, "That's interesting - a very unique marketing campaign." A couple of weeks later the billboard ads have a new message: "I've got something I want to say to you." And then a few weeks later, "You are a being of unfathomable goodness." And from there the message develops week after week...
All of a sudden we're getting a message of love out there, and vast numbers of people are seeing it, because these billboards are posted in every major city around the world. Nothing quite like this has happened before, and it's the talk of the global community. In fact it's the biggest and most fascinating cultural thing happening in the world at all. Instead of everyone's attention being focused on "buy our stuff," or on the general suffering and cynicism usually portrayed in the popular media, people everywhere are contemplating this positive message. And because the message is sincere, creative, humorous, and completely filled with good intention, it blows everyone's mind, and it causes people all around the world to sit up and watch very closely.
At the end of a three or four month period, when everyone is talking about this outrageous new phenomenon, waiting passionately to see where it's all leading, suddenly one week the billboards let the cat out of the bag. People are finally introduced to the organization behind the campaign. People learn that the organization exists solely to help serve the world, and that if they are inspired they can call in to find out how they can do something to help.
We have gigantic call centers filled with highly skilled coaches who help people find their way. There would be a large resource base that encompasses a vast network of organizations including; spiritual traditions, volunteer organizations, political change organizations, environmental organizations, self help programs, counseling, uplifting programs of any and all kinds, books, websites, trainings, and helpful information of all varieties. Create an inclusive referencing network, and the coaches would skillfully help people find their way forward.
Yes this would be a hugely expensive and complex project. But with the will, there would be enough money to create a thousands of such projects. And yes you could say this is a "crazy" idea. But look at our widespread societal paralysis in the face of accelerating environmental degradation, and global plague, famine, and war? Could this not be said to be "crazy" as well?
From there take it on to the airwaves with radio, television, and of course the net. Once we get started, we could instigate a global wave of goodness. The key is trust in the human heart. We can reset our connection to our source on a global scale, and then we can all help each other find the way. It's nothing more than exactly what everyone wants, so let's do it.

I remember also thinking about ways in which to engage big coorporations to sponsor this kind of campaign and I'm sure there is a way to attract the money needed somehow!
So what are we waiting for? Well, personally I have my plate full at the moment and sometime ahead but I would be willing to contribute with ideas, moral support and some kind of monthly amount, if someone actually are brave enough to launch this project. Lets talk more!
Love
