Worldwide Prayer/Meditation NetworkPosted by craig |
This is a project to create a worldwide network of people meditating, praying, and sending love for world peace 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year (366 on leap years).
LuminEarth Overview
LuminEarth will be home to a worldwide network of people engaged in activities to help the world. The heart of the website is a schedule where people will be signed on to meditate, pray, and send love for world peace around the clock. Emerging from this ground of practice will be a community of world changers working with skillful means on a global scale.
LuminEarth will have three main areas of activity:
1. Online Meditation/Prayer Schedule
2. Global Interfaith Network
3. Spiritual Teachings Web Portal
1. Online Meditation/Prayer Schedule
At LuminEarth.org, there will be a schedule where people sign on to practice for world peace. People will logon for a specific length of time, ten minutes, thirty minutes, or however long they like, and during that time they will do some form of contemplative practice which they then dedicate for world peace.
There is solid scientific evidence which shows that sending intention over a distance has a real, measureable effect. LuminEarth will utilize this evidence to inspire people to sign up and log on. The aspiration is to eventually have hundreds of thousands or even millions of people signed on all the time sending their intentions to heal our world.
2. Global Interfaith Network
The website will provide a space for a worldwide interfaith network. This will include spiritual, scientific, new age, religious, ancient and contemporary wisdom traditions of all kinds, as well as anyone at all who wants to help.
LuminEarth will build an innovative ecosystem where individuals, groups, and organizations can connect, create, and innovate. To get a sense of the scale and possibilities for this area, check out this site: http://www.takingitglobal.org/
3. Spiritual Teachings Web Portal
LuminEarth will also house a portal of teachings from the spectrum of world spiritual traditions. There will open source tools to facilitate the creation of an expansive body of teachings, including audio, video, and encyclopedia in the wikipedia style. Included will be a section for contemplative techniques that people can learn and practice.
The framework for the LuminEarth project will be created by a team of writers, administrators and web developers. Once this framework is completed, the remainder of the site will be created in open source fashion, with users from around the world contributing their inspiration, energy, and knowledge.
The overall LuminEarth vision is to:
-provide an unbiased home where people of all traditions and faiths can come together with a shared intention.
-create a powerful resourse base so people can have easy access to spiritual traditions at local, regional, and global levels.
-empower spiritual traditions to be more effective in their work by giving them new tools and channels of communication.
-create a new vehicle for people to join in on the journey of healing the planet.
-provide new gateway for people to enter a contemplative dicipline.
